Generous care so that all may thrive.

Our Purpose

NewHope Community Care (NHCC) is a practical outreach to the community, supporting people in times of crisis and need. We are here for the tough times, with a mission to extend generous care so that all may thrive.

“…whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

Our Pillars

NewHope Community Care achieves its purpose through 5 key pillars that define the nature of our work: Mentoring, Housing, Equipping, Connecting and Food Relief. These pillars guide our strategy and our practice as we address the tangible needs within our local community.

Our Practice

We empower the church to be the church. Through ministry, partnership and intentional presence, NHCC engages in a web of strategic activities within our local community. The cumulative impact of this work casts hope where despair can be overwhelming and empowers transformative opportunities in the lives of many.

Our History

NewHope Community Care was registered as a not for profit organisation in 2006. We originally operated from the NewHope Baptist Church offices before moving next door to the Community Care Centre in 2011 (522 Middleborough Road, Blackburn North). New offices were then built in 2017, and NewHope Community Care moved to its current home in the main NewHope building on 3 Springfield Road. Our relief desk is located right next to reception.

NewHope Community Care is a public benevolent institution in accordance with item 4.1.1 of section 30-45 of the Income Tax Assessment Act (Cth) 1997. We provide relief and care for the residents of the City of Whitehorse and the surrounding community.

We are an initiative of NewHope Baptist Church and share the mission of Jesus’ love for the world. Through relief care, developmental care and advocacy care, we endeavour to empower people to transform their lives with new and ongoing hope.
